So here’s the history of why I decided to create this league.
Just like most of you, I enjoyed playing “Bagg-O” at BBQ’s, Tailgates, etc., until one day I found out there was a tournament!! Thinking we were good, my friend and I entered the tournament. We got there and we were taken back with the talent that was present. We immediately knew we were doomed. We also learned the distance from the front of one board to the other was 27 feet. We were not accustomed to that distance. We also were told that the proper terminology for the sport is Cornhole.
So we our 1st Best of 3 match, we lost 21-0 and 21-1. Out single game Loser’s Bracket match didn’t go much better, 21-5. Luckily there was a “Loveable Loser’s Bracket” for the first 8 teams eliminated from the tournament. Ironically, we won 3 single game matches in a row and went home with cash in our pockets.
From there, we found a league to join down in Brooklawn, NJ. Great league, but a long drive on a weeknight. I finally found a place that could accommodate a Cornhole League closer to home. And so, the South Central Jersey Cornhole League hosted by 45th Street Restaurant/Pub has been created.
